That's true if you're just troubleshooting. As Dave said, you can do "some very serious tone shaping," as well. The stereo amp, being more linear, should give you a truer re-production of the tone of the test amp. I was just curious as to what size amp had worked for you. Until about a year ago, I had a couple of older stereo amps stored in my garage.
