Lonnie Mack passed Thursday.
A guitarist truly ahead of his time.
He will be missed. :cry:

Lonnie was one of those session kind of guys that was everywhere, but relatively unknown to the masses in the early 80s. I, like a lot of people, was introduced to his second coming through his collaboration with SRV. Lonnie was about as solid of a player as anyone. Still like his "Oreo cookie blues" today...

This is turning out to be a bad year for musicians. I check the news every day I didn't hear anything about Lonnie Mack. He was pretty important, as an influence on early rockers he was huge. He warranted a column the front page of NYT IMO.
