I've been going through some of my excess amp stuff recently -- trying to thin the herd to fund a new build I have in mind-- and I discovered these two Marshall amp covers. Does anyone know what era they are from?
I've had a few Marshalls through the years, but most of you around here know a lot more about Marshall.s than I do.
Thanks in advance,
LDC

Re: Marshall Amp Covers: When were these made?
I thought I would give this one more try and hopefully someone might have some information about what era these Marshall covers are from. I hope my asking does not cross any lines regarding forum etiquette...
Thanks again for any information,

You're not crossing any lines mate, its just the right people haven't spotted the thread yet. I'd help but I've never seen those covers before!

I don't know the date the logo moved but it went to the center around 74. My 75 cabs have one of each and my earlier cabs have the lower left.
They are covers for cabinets that are not easy to sell for lots and lots of money. I'll say that. (because everything is like.. crashed, forever)

Re: Marshall Amp Covers: When were these made?
Thanks for all of your information. I didn't know the logo was moved from the corner to the center around 1974. I wonder if the move was made at the same time they went from turret boards to printed circuit boards. I'm not quite sure what you meant by "covers for cabinets" unless you meant head cabinets. These covers measure approximately 28.5" wide, 10" tall, and 8" deep.
And thanks Littlewyan for your comment, I wasn't sure if I was headed the right direction or not...

The cabinets didn't come with covers so earlier ones were sold with later cabs too until they ran out. Hard to sell cabinet covers back then.
