If you aren't particular about looks, use a snips to cut a piece of scrap sheet metal. Drill two holes. Mount it on the inside where no one "sees" it. Of course, we see it, but does that matter? This only costs a few pennies.

You could put some freaky tube there, like one of these "magic eye" tubes:

or even one of these cray-cray thingamajiggies:

Not whacky enough? I can't find the pic right now, but one guy made some exact replicas of Fender skirted knobs on his 3d printer, but with all the numbers randomly mixed up. You could mount a pot in the hole and label it "CRAZY" 8)

If you ever decide to make little covers and such yourself, aluminum roof flashing comes in small sheets (4" square or so) at Home Depot/Lowes, and is easy to cut with hand shears/tin snips.

I made this little cover from roof flashing, glued a photo I printed off the web, then sprayed it with Krylon clear coat (covers a cap can hole I wasn't using):

Sorry, I don't get it. $3.74 for a piece of sheet metal with 2 holes drilled in it. Any bit of scrap cut with snips and a couple of #4 screws can be used. If too thick or hard for snips, use a hack saw! Smooth edges with a file or better yet, with all the money you save, get one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-SHAVIV-VARG ... SwsB9WDLqS You haven't lived (with respect to sharp edges) until you've used one of these. Whether you know it or not, you need one of these.

Phil, you are the King of the No Cost Solution! Except the tool costs $16.99 (plus shipping) so you would need to make and sell 5 of them at Doug's price to pay for your tool, excluding your time to acquire the sheet metal and then fabricate them. The only thing I would get out of making them myself is stitches and a tetanus shot. I'll spend the $3.74 thank you very much. Better yet, I'll email a .dxf file to the laser shop, have 250 of them laser cut from a sheet of 5052, bead blasted, and then pick them up after lunch.

Anyone want to buy 249 hole covers?
