Open heart surgery Wednesday...

Re: Open heart surgery Wednesday...
I miss a lot of stuff here since the malware maze. Glad all's well, I've had two friends go through this, it's incredible how fast the recovery is. Much faster than many other serious operations, one friend was home after a week! I remember when heart surgery was like landing on the moon. Anyway, in a very short time this won't even be a bad memory. Best of luck.

I'm back...
better daily.
They pinched a nerve bundle in my right hand and arm.
typing is excruciating.
P/T & cardiac P/T looming.
a pinprick compared to what some of our troops are going through.
All in all a success...
Thanks to all for the support.
Hopefully back to old self soon.

Sorry hear of the complications Bob, great to see you post again. Best of luck with rehab, I expect that you and a treadmill will become very familiar with each other...

Sorry for the troubles Bob.
PT sucks but it will help.
Get better soon!

Bob good to hear from you and rest well.
I had that arm/shoulder nerve problem and PT finally got that worked out, was a lot of pain. Almost 4 years later and that nerve pain is back so I need to get back to PT.
Take care, Mark

It is good to hear from you Bob. Hopefully the pain will subside with the treatment. You survived the big part. Now to get back to normal.
Be well and heal soon Bob.

Do you have a schematic?

Feel better sooner, Bob.

The schematic would be better with the water analogy. I'm sure you remember how well that turned out.Reeltarded wrote:Do you have a schematic?

Bob, get well soon.

Bob,
Should have said something sooner. I hope it's going well. I don't pray often enough, but if God isn't too pissed at me, I'll say most of mine for you and yours.

Re: Open heart surgery Wednesday...
thanks for checking on me.
Chest is doing good at 7 weeks.
Main irritation is sensation at clothing, anything else brushing my chest, now the nerves are coming back.
But the damage done by brachial plexus pinch has my right arm/hand all FUBAR. Basically useless. Worse, 'cause the random pain stabs are killer.
PCP not willing to send me to a neurologist yet. Pain meds not working.
New respect for those hurt worse than I.
Maybe that's the lesson.
I'm lurking, but typing is one handed, slow, and error prone.
So many things to relearn lefty.
Thanks again, my friends.

Relieved to hear back!Bob Simpson wrote:thanks for checking on me.
Covering a fuckup. Which may have been the anes'ologist. And every day you don't have a neurologist is a day it's not being treated properly. Do you have a lawyer? I hope so - get him/her to inform your PCP you WILL have a neurologist on the case, neuro will see you within 48 hours or he will find a fire lit under his ass. And he's the one that lit it by his inaction about your nerve damage. This is rubbish, refusing to properly treat a patient. I'll bet he doesn't drag his heels like that on the way to the golf course.PCP not willing to send me to a neurologist yet. Pain meds not working.
Failing that, or if you're too polite to broadside your PCP, or he turns out to be a weasel, you may have to call or have a family member call on your behalf, what local neuros you can find. Get in there ASAP.
Pain meds, feh. I dunno about you but anything I've ever got doesn't relieve pain, just makes me not care that it hurts. Looking forward to dental surgery soon, not.

True that, a lesson that too often comes with um, maturity.
Keep in touch, had to do the lefty thing with a cast on the right way long ago, turned out OK in the end & you will too.I'm lurking, but typing is one handed, slow, and error prone.
