That PT also was also unbalanced, but only by 8 volts.
Ron I had the same issue with Weber and advised them that their engineer surely could make sure the replacement stand up ends are the same depth or increased to fit all those PT wires inside the bell. Had to space it out. Weber said it works for them so not sure why I was having problems. Yeah a very big insult to my abilities.
My recent purchase from Weber is a joke as well the Orange 60100 kit, the cheap tone board is too narrow to fit the e-caps. Sure I can slop it all together like they do. I made my own garolite tone board instead.
Too bad about these Weber posts. The same comments are being made on the Weber site.
The amp kits, and amp building, were Ted's thing, the dad.
TA, the son now in charge, has focused the business much more on the speakers, which are their core business.
It was the W022798 that I had trouble with for a 5B6 PTP. The PT actually was and is performing perfectly, it's just that I had to go with a slightly larger chassis than I wanted after enduring their insult!
You're a better man than me Mark. I couldn't get those wires compressed enough to work. The insulation of 1 wire tore causing a potential shorting scenario before the bells were seated.
Well they tested one and sent me a good one!
And you guys can say I told you so. I had a poor bias connection ! for The tube that was red plating.
So now she is alive! And sounds great! 413v on the plates, biased at 60%
