Forrest says Mmm Hmm...
This amp isn't the hugest sounding amp, but it really does drip with harmonics like no other amp I have played.
I did a Satch cover; I've probably posted it already, but this is with the new pickup; an EMG 85-7X and a Fulltone Mini Dejavibe.. I really dig it, and it goes great with this amp.
Here's the 24/96 file, so you can hear it as I do.

Re: Got a new pickup, and it sounds good.
What's the difference between the 85 and the 85-7X other than an extra string going on? Anything?
An 85 in the bridge is my favorite active pickup by EMG, hands down. The 89 is supposed to be the same pup but without the coil tap feature, but not to my ears.
Yea, no kidding that's got some maple syrup all over the place! Sounds very nice. Good jam!
I forgot to ask... So, what's the amp anyway? You didn't specify.

24/96 is going to exclude many people from listening.

Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

I have heard from a source I trust that with good quality digital to analog converters the human ear can't really hear better than 16/44.1. Increased bit depth is useful in the recording/mixing process because it gives more headroom. And an increase in the sample frequency helps out all the digital sound processing algorithms. But once converted to 16/44 no one can tell the difference.Reeltarded wrote:24/96 is going to exclude many people from listening.

Express amp.
The X series has a different preamp. I bet it's a higher headroom opamp. They are more open feeling than a regular EMG, but still have the clairity of the active.
I'll take a 24/96 track over an mp3 anyday. A higher bit and sampling rates have more headroom and detail by far. DVD's are 24/48... To not take the extra minute to download a full WAV file is so crazy to me. You're still sitting on the computer if it takes 10 second or 10 minutes to download. It's insulting to even bring up this topic thereby making this forum even more lame as it is slow and redundant...
