I think we've all noticed the grid stoppers on amp such as tweed Fenders and Various Marshall amps, given this is a good thing why isn't there a grid stopper from wiper of the volume control to the grid of the following stage on the Trainwreck Rocket?

I've not really found the need for one, but did have one for a bit in my first Rocket. I took it out. Ken seemed to have magic hands regarding lead dress and I know he only used grid stoppers when he felt it was absolutely necessary. With the settings I fancy on the Rocket, it's just not something I'd do, but if you're running it full up, I can see how that might be a useful thing. Could also darken the amp up a bit if brightness is an issue. I like the purity without it.

Thanks for the reply. I have been distracted and busy lately so I do apologize for overlooking this post.
Agreed a large grid stopper would darken the sound of an amp, but I am talking about bypassing is with a 470pF or larger. Under such conditions I'm not sure you'd even be able to pick if the grid stopper was in circuit till the amp distorted.
Getting back to my concerns, I would expect to see no more than 1.5 volts on the cathode of the stage following the volume control, it is un-bypassed which will offer additional protection against distortion via forward conduction.
I'm inclined to think the output of the first stage surely must easily exceed the voltage on the cathode of the following stage. Seems like a job for the CRO. I'll input 100mV peak and see what happens. Watch this space occasionally!
