It's ironic that the size is causing you not to believe that it's real or reliable. Parts have been getting smaller for years and years. Miniaturization is a driving factor for most technologies. It's a good thing.

Here is the formula for capacitance.

C=epsilon*A/d
where
C is the capacitance, in Farads;
A is the area of overlap of the two plates, in square meters;
epsilon is the product of permittivity and the electric constant
d is the separation between the plates, in meters;

This formula allows for many different size configurations for a given capacitance. I am not aware of any evidence that indicates there is a problem with that cap. Of course, it's your product and you have to stand behind it so we have different viewpoints. But I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

The outside container of an electrolytic cap may be somewhat misleading compared to what is actually inside.

That is probably the most inviting vortex I've ever seen. There simply must be something groovy on the other side. Coordinates?

Well i`d rather someone PROVE me wrong, i`m a big boy n can handle it, but tell me, you would seriously trust this in a $5,000 amp? I`ll stick to std size, or a sprauge! :)

jim@Omegaamps
You don't trust it because you still think it's fake, or because you don't trust F&T to make the cap correctly in a different size?

Robert
Nice question, so far F&T hasn`t rtnd my e-mail, n for simplicity`s sake, the dimension of what i GOT at ebay from Amp Parts Direct doesn`t coincide wiht the AD provided by APD, and furthermore iF i was a cap co, i wouldn`t sell a CHICKLET and pass it off as a 22uf@500vdc filter capacitor for a hi performance tube amplifier!

respectfully, jim

Correct, just because you are not used to seeing the common 16x39mm size carried by most US distributors doesn't necessarily mean its fake, that is the stubby 18X30mm (part # 22050018030) 22uF/500V cap. Very little of what F&T makes is stocked by US distributors and thus why you will see uncommon sizes and values carried by foreign Euro vendors on eBay.

TM
Thanks MIke, you are quite a gentleman! The dimension doesn`t coincide w/ad at ebay, even IF it`s totally right, i just can`t put a chicklet in the power supply of this amp! lol!
