OK, I have the Delta Pro-12A in my amp (D'Mars ODS). Keep in mind that this is a Marshallish preamp into a Dumblish OD, FX, LTPI, etc .... that is cathode biased. Probably about a 23 watt amp using 5881's.

This speaker allows me to dial up more mids and the mids are smoother in tone then with the Cannabis Rex that I was using. I think maybe the highs in the Cannabis Rex are slightly smoother?

Main differences that I hear are more sustain and vowel tone with mids dialed up & the speaker seems to be amazingly touch sensitive especially on the clean setting. Playing softly, it is very clean/clear and when you dig in it hangs on that edge of break up. (this is without changing the dials on the amp).

Whether single coil tone or dual coil tones, the clean channel sounds wonderful to me. I slightly prefer the single coil tones with this speaker when the amp is in the OD mode. This speaker sounds great to me with the OD.

With respect, 10thtx

Used a Jensen Blackbird 100 watt alnico for a simple SSS type combo, INSANELY AWESOME for this type of sound, silky highs, big bottom, fat mids!

I use a Delta Pro 12A with a #124 amp. Works ok, it's a little on the dull side compared to a EVM like everyone says.

I have a Tonker and Swamp thing in an oversized 212 (ala RFs). It's again a ok combo, a little on the harsh size.

If I did it again I'd say save your money and get the real deal (EVM, Celestion, etc.).

Broken record here. I am OK with a Swamp Thang. Third or fourth on my list behind G1265, EV12L, and Classic Lead 80....

Delta Pro needs to be paired with a speaker with a tad more high end IMHO and does not let the OD shine. I have a 2 x 12 with CL80 and Delta Pro that sounds pretty darn good, though. Thump & snarl.

I use the eminence Crankin' Country speaker set (Legend 1258 and GB128) in a 2X12 dumble cabinet, and it sounds really great with my JM Two Rock or my D'lite. Don't know if it's the cab or the speakers, but it has a really nice low end response. I think the pairing of those speakers covers all the bases more or less and is something like 175 for the pair.

That being said, ive tried a pair of my friend's EV12MLs in that same dumble style cabinet and it absolutely KILLS. It's like it was meant for those speakers!

Iv'e also tried a pair of the Eminence EM12s. They sound very similar to the EV12Ms, but dont have the same high end sparkle - this isnt totally a bad thing, as i find that if you record the EV12 you really need to bring anywhere between 6-8khz down a few db as it can sound kind of harsh.

EM12 is great in an open back 2x12. Better highs than the Delta Pro, which of course was not really intended for guitar.
