There are two versions of the "Harmonic Vibrato." See for example the 6G4 and 6G4-A Super, and the 6G12 and 6G12-A Concert schematics. In the earlier version the LFO drives a phase splitter directly, whereas in the "A" versions the LFO drives a CF stage, which in turn drives the splitter.

If Fender schematics are correct (and we all know that's potentially ....?) there's an anomaly and both 6G8 & 6G8-A Twin have that CF. Pure speculation :: Since the Twin was a late addition to the blonde series it got a transition design, picking up this heftier oscillator drive. Whichever version was used in the video it'll be that later version. Scanning quickly to compare, preamp tone stack sections are definitely different but otherwise they're nearly identical. Voltages are bit hotter, NFB is tighter, a few caps are different on the "A" version.

If the 6G8 Twin got the LFO with CF to start, then the -A refers to the other circuit changes.

I saw JSBX a couple times around '93/'94, and Judah was playing a SF Super, as he did for quite a while. I still have my '71 Super that I bought that next week That's when I realized how gronky and rockin a tele through a Fender can be, in the right hands. No disrespect for the blondie of course, Judah just always gets it right with any Fender. I heard he peeked inside one, saw the cathodes, and realized they didn't need a bass player.

Advice: do it while your eyes are still young, and you can see stuff up close without needing reading glasses, a magnifier, and flood lamps. It's not a fun build once the presbyopia sets in . . .

Definitely check out the Revibe. There are a couple of clips on Doug's site, and another good one on the Weber site. The one on Weber's site is lower left hand corner of the kit page. It really shows off the univibe-like quality of this circuit.

i prefer the Thomas Joseph crossword, he appears to have a limited vocabulary i cant even get halfway through the times crossword...

actually, for that kinda project i draw lines with a pencil and play connect the dots, its not that hard, unless you forget to drill a hole! been down that road!

made a few really good connections at a barber shop i went to yesterday, they were mostly hardcore/screamo type guys, but one guy is a TOTAL pedal head and wanted me to send him pictures. and boy did I!! may have a fish on the line, set the hook with a live demo!! interested in my delays, auto-wahs and clean boosters. asked me if i could build a fuzz pedal told him "im the fuzz king!" he know lots of peeps in this area and i can get pretty technical with him, he's a sharp guy (rimshot->barber)

i like the univibe in a crybaby 'shell,' buddy of mine has an OLD Singer sewing machine pedal that is SCREAMING for an awesome circuit. he hasn't done anything with it and WONT sell it to me.... even though someone gave it to him meh, ill find my own cool enclosure, i love re-purposing stuff. remember: its Reduce Reuse Recycle, most people just go straight to recycle....

also i would like to add: the album version cant hold a candle to this live performance, i usually prefer the album version of songs, this has changed my view on that as well, and a number of other things too!! like HARMONIC VIBRATO!!! soo sweet and cool, cant wait to bust out my soldering iron and do some metal work!!! it will be a pleasure working with new transformers, just been using re-purposed iron until now
