I look forward to meeting anyone who comes to the show. I will have Ray Domzalski with me by the way. He has made a board or two for some of you I think. Anyway, look for the purple amps.
Re: Source for Custom Chassis
Had a great time at the show!! Mike came through with the chassis and if you don't mind drilling the holes yourself he has a great product and prices. (Thanks Mike!!) Also got to meet Bombay (Brian). Brian and Ray his cab/ board builder are top notch and building some great looking amps (Inside and out)
I had Mike bend the "Ears" out on my chassis to make it easier to install in a normal style head cab.
Here are some pics

I'm currently working with Nik from Ceriatone http://www.ceriatone.com on getting a custom chassis made. He says that his chassis are laser cut so I'm having him do all holes for the chassis as well.
His quote was around $100 shipped. I'm hoping the final product will be professional looking custom chassis. I'll post some results when I get the chassis.
Anyone have any experience with having a custom chassis made by Ceriatone?
Omar
Here are some pics of the chassis I just recieved from Nik. Complete with all holes and capture nuts. If your not in to drilling and punching this is a great way to start.

Hey Dana,
What was the cost of the chassis. Also, I don't remeber meeting you, I remember Mike.
Refresh my memory. I thought it was pretty bad that dealers were leaving at 5 when the show was scheduled to close at 6:30.

If you remember meeting Richie's (Plexi) brother that was me. Strange.....I thought the show only ran until 5pm. You will have to get in touch with Nik regarding the price. I know the shipping was around $50 and the cost of one chassis plus shipping was $100 if I remember right. Richie and I went together and had a couple of chassis shipped in the same box to save on shipping.
Man you and Ray got it together. Those were some beautiful amps and the cabinetry was great! I just wish I could have heard one cranked

I ordered a chassis from Nik as well. Pics can be found here:

I am really happy with the quality. The only downside is that the aluminum scratches really easily. Hopefully I should have some pics of my build using the chassis in the next couple of weeks.

I'm also Happy with the quality of both Komboking and Nic's chassis'. It's interesting that yours came with the EIC connector hole. Ours came with a strain relief hole and the larger bright switch hole. I think Nik did ours from Funk's diagram.
Can't wait to see your build pics!!
Re: Source for Custom Chassis
I sent Nik my own drawings for the chassis since my chassis is a little bit smaller than the Funk chassis. I already have the cabinet head that was built by Bob Burt and I'm trying to fit the new chassis in it. I specified the IEC connector and the size of the pilot on my drawings. For the life of me, I cannot put on a strain relief collar without chewing it up and making it look bad. Plus I like the convenience of of the IEC.UR12 wrote:Omar

Re: Source for Custom Chassis
Hi Dana, looks great! I wonder why Nik went with the larger Bright switch hole? Did you get your tranny's yet? I got my delivery of Mallory OD's if you need some let me know. I think I will order one from nik this week. How goes the hunt for perfboard?

Re: Source for Custom Chassis
I'm not sure but I think I read somewhere he was using specs supplied by Funk. I have been so busy working on a 6v6 version of early Plexi. (Something like Mark did only earlier, more Bassman like) I haven't had time. Anyway I hope to get them ordered soon.Allynmey wrote:Hi Dana, looks great! Thanks for the compliments on the amps. We've been at it for a while and still don't really have it all together yet. If you had stayed later you would have heard the amp.
