Valvestate power switch
Got a valvestate 8080 on the bench. I don't usually try to repair these type amps but owner is a good friend. It had two bad switches. The clean/crunch switch is found at many parts suppliers but The fender switch I had on hand worked great. the Power switch is another story. It is a pushbutton type. I've searched but can't find replacement. Anyone have idea where to find one?

Re: Valvestate power switch
there is likely something that can be subed, but need to see what the bugger looks like?

Re: Valvestate power switch
I talked customer into letting me wire in a standard rocker switch which needed a larger hole in chassis but was easy enough.
Today I got a call from one of his other friends wanting the same repair on his and possibly another.
Those pushbutton switches that Marshall used were definitely cheezy. Both amps had Mains and at least one other switching button bad!
TAD has them in stock but the shipping puts them over $60.00.
Mouser can get them but needs 10 weeks.
The only other supplier wanted $30.00 minimum order with $10.00 shipping.
Morale of the story:
Never repair SS amps from England if you live in the U.S., and don't be friends with people who use them because you'll feel obliged to help them and you'll lose money.
