I know I have run my keyboard way too much on this thread..
But would like to add one more thing before this thread goes into the Abyss... Usually a problem occurs when amp manufactures get into writing business on the very thing they are manufacturing and selling to the public.. it most often turns into my way is the only way or the best way to do things, and very easily becomes just a promotional spin on there amps..I would much rather see it be a show me your opinion and back it up with the data and let me make up my own mind or be able to use it in other ways..Since they have a pony in the race some don't really tell you the good stuff since they want to keep that to themselves.. Personally I don't really blame them but it IMO does not make for a good book, after all that's what we really want from them,(not another book on basic tube theory)and are paying for isn't it!..Also looking out over the web I don't see that much info shared by Bruce on this or any other forum so my first thought is does he really enjoy helping others and has no reservation about sharing the goods..A big part of writing a good book is the desire to share (not all but some info) to the general public..I know I enjoy it!!..You can tell builders like Randall Aiken and Merlin enjoy this as well as I see them them out there helping others in the spirit of sharing info and learning from others so I would be more inclined to buy their books since I know there approach and are good at explaining there findings and backing them up!..We all know Bruce makes a good amp but that doesn't always translate into a a good book since he is writing about the very thing that puts food on his table he would be faced with the double edged sword!!I would like to see more evidence of the contrary before I spend my money..I could be wrong and it might be a good book...I have my doubts!

Here is Randall Aiken's Tech info page..On the same site he promotes his amps!!..Very 8).. If he wrote a book It would IMO be a great read!

Thanks for the nice comments, Tony! I appreciate it!

I have been threatening to write a book for many years, and started on it several times, but never found the time to finish it. Merlin's books are top-notch, I highly recommend them. Also, if Bruce wrote a book, I'd definitely buy it!

One thing I've learned in all my years of engineering: buy all the books you can on a subject. You can usually learn something from all of them, and very few of them are a waste of time. If nothing else, they make an impressive display on your bookshelf.
