20w SE output transformer?

Post by joshdfrazier »

After these PP builds, i'm really wanting to do another SE. AX84's alleged "20 watt" SE powered by a single kt88 sounds like alot of fun, but i can't find the doberman 20w SE opt that the design suggests.

Mouser has this: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Ham ... Ogod6nIA2Q

but that's 10 more watts than I need, and the price...geez. Anywhere something like this could be obtained for under $100?

The Doberman 20W SE OT has three primaries and is custom wound by Heyboer. You won't find it at Mouser.

Check the OT20SE here http://www.musicalpowersupplies.com/ordering/ He says 3 week lead time for special order, but I don't think you'll beat the price.

I have one I'm not getting around to using. Brand new, got it from Chriss at ax84 a few years ago as part of a trade. PM me if interested.

If you don't hook up with bean Chris told me he has a few of them in stock. It was a few months ago but I doubt he's gotten rid of them.

i actually just went ahead and emailed matt at musical power supplies and requested this ot with 2.5k primary and 8ohm secondary. 52 bucks including shipping, though i would be waiting 3 weeks. seems like a deal to me in any case.

I would get the Heyboer transformer.

I've used one musical power supplies transformer set and never again. The quality Heyboer offers is superior to MPS in my opinion.

Weber has a 25W single-ended transformer for $48. I'm using the 15W version with success currently.
