ditto UGH for Orange Drops in a Fender! My first tube amp a 64 BF Pro Reverb; all original, even RCA 6L6GC's....

Then I read Dan Torres newsletter: "Get rid of those old leaky Blue caps in your Fender amp and replace them with my super-duper Orange Drop caps...."

So I took it hook, line & sinker.... changed them all and lost the magic... Yeah I probablly changed those lousy RCA 6L6 power tubes as well but took me a few years to unlearn all that snake-oil salesman propaganda....

Torres used to sell the blue molded caps from amps he had "upgraded." I think he was on a 418P kick in those days.

I never said I disliked orange drops in a fender. I said I disliked 715s in the preamp of a fender amp.

I don't think I have ever seen but one blue molded cap that was bad.
Makes me chuckle when I see those old amps with all the caps replaced

Jelle mentioned he doesn't like TVA's and aparently he had problems with those. For my trainwreck builds I use CDE in the preamp but I never had a problem with TVA's.
