If we overlook the fact that a huge amount of factors come into play in the final sound of an amp, and they all play a crucial part in how the amp final sound will be, do you usually find yourself choosing amps that use a cathode driven (cathode follower) tonestack or amps that use plate driven tonestack?
I have this crazy irrational idea that tells me that plate drive amps most of the times seem to have more note definition, but then I think of how good some tweeds and marshalls sound with cathode followers...
