Amazing.
Yeager was amazing. Glenn too. All these guys should have been dead nine times over and now they're 90-something.

John McCain is a war hero who served his country faithfully. I honor him for that and will bite my tongue.

McCain is a war hero but a broken man in my best estimation, which is nothing more than opinion. Hat's off for the service.

Collins, too. And anybody who'd sit on top of an M80 to see how high they'd go. Collins wound up a General and started a space exploration company or something. I want to be anyone who went to the moon.

I'm with you LEM. Anybody who gets a name check from Jethro Tull, that's recognition, over 40 years ago. What a terrific song.

McCain, p'd me off again today. No sooner does he get out of his meeting with the Prez, he's got to spit on him. "It's a shame it hasn't been done already! Nyah nyah nyah." Wassamatta Johnny, your Halliburton stock not going up fast as you planned? He can redeem himself a little by singing a chorus of "Hey you, get off of my lawns." And to think I used to like him. In spite of being a backwards ace. Good phrase Miles. ;)

So, this was about Svetlana being no longer available, didn't take us too long to wander. Hope yez all had a good Labor Day. I fixed a Dunlop wah pedal, a script MXR distortion +, put a custom jack in a VibroJet so the vibro can be turned off with a pedal, and restored a Gibson GA-19 RVT Falcon from a buzzing fuse-blowing heap into a good sounding amp. Tomorrow, more busted gear. Bring it on.

Houston, we have a problem. The only vacuum out here is stuck in glass tubes. Not what we planned. Please advise, over.

I shouldn't have said anything particularly political.

In my opinion, they are all nutless bastards until it comes to their own careers, then they are whores and psychopaths.

Minot, North Dakota loved Chuck Yeager, he flew into the Minot AFB for the first time and said "why not Minot, it's not the end of the world but you can see it from there".

Speaking of Mike Matthews, have you seen him lately?

Not sure if he is applying for a Santa Claus gig.

No Santa Claus here. Like him or not, he's a marketing genius.

Think that halo around his head was photoshopped or just coincidence.

I was poor, broke, no money, barely a place to live when I was in my early 20s. I ended up in a situation where I needed to travel about 40 miles to and from work. This was in rural southern Colorado...not many peeps around. I was hitchiking one morning and this guy picks me up. We start talking about whatever. Turns out he's Chuck Yeager. One thing leads to the next and he's taking me to and from work daily cause he's travelling that way anyhow. What a great guy. Down to earth, funny, and willing to help out a young kid down on his luck. His son had a place closer to where I was working and he arranged for me to spend quite a few nights at his son's house. Funny the people you meet in the middle of nowhere.

That was very nice of good ole Chuck. I had a lot of Marine Officers help me out through my young days, walking on base. :)

Cool story!

One of America's great heroes.

He supposedly could see an enemy aircraft something like 20 miles away while flying his P-51 Mustang.
First to see the enemy is always an advantage. :D
