Ok, I'm gonna do it! If you hear from me Friday you'll know I survived. By the by, house was empty yesterday so I turned the 18 watter up to 11. Man, this thing sounds way too good to have been built by me! Thanks again for all the help...I'll say it again, this forum is awesome!

Somethin' else to look out for: IIRC the PV classic 30 has SERIES wired filaments. Your PV PT filament winding may look more like 26-28 VAC unloaded when you check it. Then you'll have to decide whether you want to use series filaments in your home build.

To borrow a phrase from Dorrisant - I may be right or wrong about all of the above. Check & let us know.

Good point Leo... If the voltage on the yellow leads is as high as that, then I'd rather apply that voltage to the primary of the OT when checking its impedance ratio.
