There are a couple Doors documentaries on right now.

I just watched The Doors - Mr. Mojo Risin - The Making of LA Woman.

Very good.

This all I could find on YouTube, sorry it's subtitled.

Wow, that was a very good article about recording and the tools they used back then.

Wow, great read. RIP Ray indeed.

Big Doors fan. When I was in college I read "No One Gets Out of Here Alive" and I had no idea what a dbag Morrison was. It ruined the pedestal I had him on. With no internet and no first hand knowledge how could you know. So easy to know now. Nevertheless as I read more back then I realized there were/are a lot of dbags  so I had to get over that quickly. Also didn't know Ray played bass with his other hand back then. In fact, I didn't know anyone could do that. I was rather green to say the least at the time (early 80's when I discovered the Doors music in a smoke filled haze :D ) but I dug music.

Robbie = totally underrated guitarist.

Oh, first time post.

I think that Jim Morrison may have been on the path to a new and better life. It is easy to be juvenile when the Money is coming in, and the World caters to you.
Just supposition on my part, but I always...kind of...thought that Paris was where he saw himself for the first time. Just a druggy, shit head. And nobody really wants to be that way.
He had A LOT of potential.
I think we all have regrets. Some more than others perhaps.

I don't disagree. Whether time would have changed him, he was still very young of course, who knows. Being a blues fanatic that last album still blows me away and I'm sure there was more great stuff to come.

What would some guy in Nashville Tennessee know about music...
"Cars Hiss By My Window" was such a cool tune. They were so good at that kind of stuff.
Was that an original.?
Would loved for them to have done a more "traditional" record like that.
Always happy to find other Doors fans.

Hope I don't get shot for this...but I don't even like country music  No offense dudes! Just not my bag.

To add even further to my youthful ignorance, as opposed to my past middle age ignorance which I add to frequently  , I never knew that was Jim's voice mimicking a harmonica, guitar or whatever you might want to call it on that song. It was a few years later and I think I read it or heard it or something and then I went back and it was clear as day. I really don't know if some old 20's country blues player wrote that song or if it is an original.

My fav on that album, if I'm forced to pick, is Hyacinth House and I'm not sure why to be honest. Something about it. When he is singing about all he wants is a friend it seems like you can tell he is about to die or at least that is what that song means to me. Who knows what he was really thinking.
