Have no idea how many of these vids I've seen, but this got me. A 54 Custom RI entirely clean and then the bias trem is kicked on for absolute euphoria.

Hey hey! No rough stuff! Domestic abuse is a serious thing!

He used to visit here when he had his Dumble.
Yeah I've seen his Dumble and watched his Blue Clouds thing. It's alright, but I don't really dig THAT D sound very much. Very tamed and not so 'ready to cause mass chaos' kinda tone I dig out of those things. It's the LP clips especially with that verb that make me dig em.

Weird it has the tune o matic tailpiece though.

'54 was the first year for the tune-o-matic bridge. It was only offered on the custom. Thanks for the clip. That is one of my favorite guitars and is on my bucket list

Interesting. I thought 56 was the first year.
My list too!... But I wouldn't mind a RI either.
hi blackburn,
'56 was first year for the standard, '54 for the custom. That '54 is so cool looking with those black covered P90's
Actually tmatic lateest 4-digit '55 goldtops, and mid '54 like you said on Custom. It was on a couple earlier big hollow very early. Turtle and Pebbles are both '55s and Turtle's neck is already more like a '56 rounder profile just short of being a 5-digit.
Alnicos sound great on both ends. My favorite vintage pickups!
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

Standards got tuneomatic in 5 digit serial 1955. There. lol
Yeah I've seen some 55 RIs that have it along with a soft shoulder neck unique to the year. Costs more than the 56 RI, but would definitely be cool sporting a 55 RI anyway.
Sorry about that pain and meds. I read yer post about the vertigo and that sucks. My dad just had an incident round the new year involving that and vomitus. He turned out fine and it only seemed confined to a couple of days thankfully. Feel better man.
