The same but fatter or bigger? Like the Rockster boost on the TW forum that might just be a parallel gain stage.
Get the tools out. You won't be able to tell by the circuit (lol) but you will be able to see what goop glob the wires run to next.

a friend that is an ampbuilder with a cowtipper reports that the extra preamp tubes simply emulates the normal channel. the vibrate/reverb channel and the extra tube are connected with standard fender 220k mixer resistors. the extra tube is not really used for a normal channel like fender did. but bruno must have feelt that the normal channel affects the vibrato channel. Therefore he added an extra tube and the 220k mixer resistors. the extra tube had a 1m grid resistor first, something that was later replaced with a 33k resistor (or so I'm told)tag101 wrote:...what does the additional preamp tube do? ...

Thanks. I am really excited about having another, although in this economy, by the time I pay it off (credit card purchase) it will probably cost me as much as my Dumble did.Firestorm wrote:Bluesbreaker cloth looks great on that amp. Using that on my newest ones. Glad you found one you liked.
I don't know Tony at all, but if he can take a circuit he likes and tweak it to a customer's taste, more power to him. That's marketing, not design, and I am first and foremost a marketing guy so I appreciate it.
Thanks! That was my Tele on the PB writer clip however. A Nocaster that I dropped a set of Mare pups in. I always kind of dug Lollars, but took a chance on the Mares. I am glad I did as I love them!Colossal wrote:Firestorm are you using the EC Collins crazy-expensive clone cloth or something close?
Yeah, I totally agree with your comment about marketing. Marketing and product are two separate things and being successful at business is more than just having a great product.
Tag, nice acquisition. I do like that Hollowbody! That guitar sounds killer on your Paperback Writer cut.
Well, sounds very clear and nice and springy!tag101 wrote:Thanks! That was my Tele on the PB writer clip however. A Nocaster that I dropped a set of Mare pups in. I always kind of dug Lollars, but took a chance on the Mares. I am glad I did as I love them!
I don't think the cloth was stupidly expensive. Something Taylor Cox uses. He also had this great marine tolex that looks like carbon fiber. I was going to wait until I had the prototypes built before I posted pictures, but let me go to the other computer and find a pic.Colossal wrote:Firestorm are you using the EC Collins crazy-expensive clone cloth or something close?

Yeah, not the crazy expensive stuff, (sort of Bluesbreakerish), but not bad, right? I think Taylor did a killer job.Firestorm wrote:I don't think the cloth was stupidly expensive.
