Look what I did
They have diamond tread at the local farm supply store.I've walked by it a bunch of times and noticed the sell pieces just the right size for a TW style chassis.I finally gave into my impulses.Even though its a stupid I dea and I;m not a metalworker anddon'thave a break.
So I did some hillbilly stuff and cameup withthis.

The texture makes it difficult to bend with any consistanct, but if you score the inside of the bend about 1/16" first with the table saw it will really help.
Just have to test a scrap first to be careful not to cut through.

Re: Look what I did
haha! That is so perfect! You need to use a big toolbox for the cabinet, and it better be red!

Love that.

Re: Look what I did
I actually thought about using that diamond plate. But instead of bending it, I thought about using aluminum channel for the front and back, with the plate on top.
Seems like you'd need to mill off the diamonds in some places to get the transformers to sit flat.
I look forward to more pics. I'm with Miles, red tool box head shell would be awesome.

I've got this for a PT.I think the treads won't be a problem there
Pots shouldn't be a problem even witha thin faceplate.I can undermount the sockets.Don't have an OT yet so have to figure that out.

That's really cool. Looks like it would be good with some dangerous tubes!

						Re: Look what I did
Something I have done before with a too thick chassis or faceplate is to counter drill the front of the hole for the pot.
So the nut is recessed.

Yes. I mean Yes!
Now you made me think of making something silly. Chicken wire front and back panels in weathered wood cabinet with egg crate artwork and a chicken hawk shadow on one side. No tresspassing placard where the disclaimer goes by the power in.
Who is the guy who made the awesome toolbox amps? Those were so cool!
