Wolfmother

Post by Structo »

I was watching a concert at Isle of Wight and one of the bands was Wolfmother.
Australian band.
I had never heard of them before but liked a lot of what I heard.
Very high energy almost 70's psychedelic type stuff.
A lot like a modern Blue Cheer.

Anyway, anybody else familiar with the band?

This song I thought was pretty good.

Been a fan for a while. Saw them in DC probably six or seven years ago. They went through a hiatus and a lineup change before recording the latest album.

Do ya think their lead singer has listened to a bit of Robert Plant :?:

A little! Like 'em too, but obsessing with Black Keys Lonely Boy lately.

I can't get it off of repeat, except to catch my favorite podcasts. Damn catchy crap!

Couldn't get into them no matter how much I tried. Saw them live it was a horrible mix and they were sloppy. Glad to hear they are learning how to play together.

It's amazing to me how the Black Keys went from a blues roots band to such catchy stuff, without really abandoning their roots. I'm stuck on Little Black Submarines.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

They have the right idea. That is what that is. What a fun show. Looks like 1974 out there.

Andrew Stockdale's voice reminds me of Jack White, in a good way.

He is a bit pitchy live, but I like the guitar centric vibe and the driving rhythm.

I am always pleasantly surprised at the crowd at Isle of Wight.

They really get into the music!

Sometimes a group that I have never heard of will play and they show the audience and they know all the words!
