Hum sound from my d-lie 44 power tube

Post by harris51 »

I notice a kind of in and out sound from one of my power tubes today when I touched it it went away but the second I took my finger off it it came back. is this a tube issue or a ground issue? :?:

Could be a faulty octal socket....

In recent builds I have had to change brand new porcelain octal sockets. On first glance they seem like high quality, but are flimsy and will flex and have poor connection once tubes are warmed up.

Have gone back to classic Belton, which are reasonable priced and never fail.
