66 rockster

Hi folks, getting towards the end of a rockster build and have a few questions, on the layout there a a couple of resistors coupled to earth on either end of the filter network, i cant find them on the schematic so was wandering if there nessercery or what value they should be

You can use 220k-270k as bleeder resistors to drain the caps on shut off.

Thought that might be the case but wanted to check before hand,lol, looking forward to giving the amp a tryout once its complete

Winged c 6l6 in this case (nos) and brimar 12ax7 preamp valves, still working through the bugs caused by using a very confined chassis but looking good so far

I love those amps! The KT66's are my own favorite but I've heard some awesome sounds using 5881's as well.

I'm dying to try KT88's with a Rocket preamp, but so many projects before I get there.

I have a friend that spent a lot of time In Ken Fischers basement amp shop and he swears that "Kenny" really loved the sound of KT88's... you might be on to something! If Kenny's health had not gone bad maybe we would have seen his version of this amp??

I have no shortage of ideas, just time and focus... I had that same idea and result.... too many ideas and not enough time. I got off to a good start but flamed out before I had liftoff... I am looking for inspiration and about 20 hours of free time.

Join the club, got to say the layout is based on yours but with a few libertys taken with a full wave diode rec ,transformer spec and dropping string but looks good so far

Are you following the implied recipe of keeping operating voltages in the low end of the band for pre- and power amp?
