My tranny arrived today Funk. It looks great and was very well packed. Thanks again for taking the time to source them.

Enjoy them!!
Make sure you rectify Half-wave Bridge to get proper voltages per the original.

Re: Dumbleator Trannies!!!
Well, in the real deal the stand by switch conects one of the HT taps to ground for a standard half-wave configuration, but the other HT tap seems to be between 2 forward diodes, one with the negative to ground.
This pic is from the files section, and illustrates what I'm saing.

I'm sure you could ditch the un-necessary stand-by switch and rectify FWB and be just fine voltage wise, I just tend to build stuff as closely as I can.

Sounds like you're describing a voltage doubler, but I'm not quite sure.

The real thing used a half wave voltage doubler. Here is the basic schematic. I am not sure on the 100uf caps, but the rest is accurate.

The 100uf maybe 47uf ??? Still not 100% sure.glasman wrote:Bob-I wrote:Sounds like you're describing a voltage doubler, but I'm not quite sure.

Re: Dumbleator Trannies!!!
Based on the size relation to those Nicholson 33uF/450 (which are fairly small in size compared to Spague). I'm guessing that 100uf/250V is probably close to right. I can't imagine a design with less filtering than that.

Re: Dumbleator Trannies!!!
Funk,
I emailed about the transformer a couple of days ago and haven't heard back, so I thought i'd post a message here. I'm interested in one or two if they are still available.
Thanks,
Andy
