Ceriatone Klein-ulator

Post by yalesmith »

I was throwing the idea around about building the Ceriatone Klein-ulator.

Has anyone built one of these? anyone have a BOM? What are your expierences? Are there other Solid-State Effects Loop Buffer build suggestions?

Thanks!

I built two of version #3(10v zener mod) models, the last with an extra cap/diode stage that increased voltage to around 37-38V IIRC. I used 100V 225P orange drops and the MAX1044 IC I sourced from Mouser as well. I would add the extra stage to increase the headroom, but all in all nothing beats the tube version.

That's not too bad of a price for the C-Lator tube loop.

It states $180 for the kit and $275 for the built unit.

I don't know what Nik used, but for the charge pump diode/cap string I used what I had on hand which was 1N4007.
