Thank you. Didn't mean to ask a redundant question, but a search for "best master volume rocket" didn't pan out so well. Searching by one type (PPIMV in your example) seemed to only bias the search results, but I'll review the thread you provided.

Working again on this amp after setting it aside for a couple of weeks, now just trying to finish it up without some of my more ambitious (for me) features, then will evaluate and make changes and additions in the future.

I acknowledge that we relative beginners ask a lot of redundant questions about stuff that's been done before - sorry about that.

From the comments posted here and made to me off-forum, it is in no way clear that there is a majority opinion about how to implement VVR or which MV works better. There are pros and cons to each, and reading (LOTS) in the last two weeks didn't provide a clear preference, except that, in this amp, because of my desire to keep the reverb driver voltages high, I've concluded it would be better not to scale the entire amp. If I'm wrong, please tell me.

After I finish and have had a chance to play the amp in its current configuration (see my related topic if interested https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=17041), I'll probably do the following:

) VVR PA and PI, not whole amp (don't want to drop voltages on reverb driver), and not screens only as I had considered.
2) Add 40uF reservoir cap before VVR.
3) Adjust power dropping resistors for proper voltages on unscaled sections.
4) LARMAR PPIMV to prevent overdriving power tubes when scaled.

Thanks to all who have provided input and suggestions, and all who have done this stuff before and posted your experiences.

Cheers,

Greg
