In a JTM45 with KT66s 8K OT do you think changing the 5kL presence pot to 25kL would be a good option?

Mark, try these simple mods first. Move the feedback wire from the 16 to the 8 or 4 tap. Also, up the NFB resistor to maybe 47K.

I'm curious, what plate voltages are you running?

I am going to use MC 40-18039 OT 4/8/16 Ohm taps with a buried 100V tap with 8K Ohm primary for KT66.

MC 40-18033 PT 690v (345-0-345) through GZ34 (1.3) so roughly 448 plate voltage.

LOL then after that one more little mod .
later you will make excuses to try something else after that you will sell it to get new parts because you changed so much you dont like the look of the insides and want to start over .
That and because you dont remember everything you did and you will want to hear it stock again.<G>
 Bill
