...Just checked the prices at Triode, and not too enticing considering you can get Heyboer for just the same. I guess they are not set on hitting a lower price point like they were with their first offerings.

Triode is listed as one of their two exclusive distributors so maybe the Triode iron is actually these guys?

Hopefully Triode will have better turn around time. It took me a month to get a set from Heybour. Looks like the price gets better if you buy in quanity. Maybe these will sound closer to the Stancors that KF originally used. I can't wait for someone to try the Triode trannys and give us a review. Thanks for the link.

Is it just me or does the Power transformer look too big?

It's already a tight fit making both pieces of iron (stancor, Heyboer, Pacific) fit and still have enough lip for the face plate and not have the transformer rubbing on the head cab or sticking out the back.

I'm guessing the 120/240 option added some width to the plates.

Looks like the OT is rated at 6600 ohms.

I wonder what steel they are using on the OT? I know Chris - Toneslut - worked hard at sorting the steel out to achieve the best tone.

Wonder if it has any lineage from the "Dynaco" transformers that MC winds??

That OT looks like a Vox style 4k but at 6k6 primary.

THe physical size of the PT is listed on the spec page. It is listed as being used for Express, Liverpool and Rocket.


From Triode web site: This is a vintage constructed, paper layer wound TW Express style output transformer. It features a 6.6K Ohm primary with 4/8/16 Ohm secondary taps.

I e-mailed triode for some info......The output transformer's windings are interleaved and its core is M-6 in a three section butt stack. The power transformer uses 26 guage m19 laminations.

I guess things were mixed up.....the output is the m19 26g based on the 3801 and the power is is m6
