The checklist is long on these things for repairing so hopefully I can find parts because they're scarce.

Estate sale find!!
I got a deal of the century yesterday. Paid $75 for 2 echoplex's both have all the parts, 1 had no tape. both don't work but I'm hoping its a minor issue. Seems to be they've sat around for awhile. These are my 4th echoplex's this year in my possesion alone, Only one worked (The choke was damaged) and it wasn't mine unfortunately
.

Regis Plex site is first on my list. He's really the only source for repair on the net. I wish there were more sources for parts.

Re: Estate sale find!!
What a great score man, good for you. I've bid on several Echoplexes on eBay and have been skunked every time at the last minute. I was pretty serious about getting one for quite a while but am maybe resigned to a ClinchFX-Pre (clone build) and a delay pedal with a random modulation circuit to simulate the tape warble. The Clinch is pretty much the front end preamp for the Echoplex. The Skreedy Echo is said to do a fair job of simulating the Echoplex however the wait times for these pedals is six months (and $325) so I've never acted on it and I'd rather just build it myself...the Wampler Tape Echo seems pretty cool too...
...or just find a decent Echoplex

The one on the left appears to be in pretty good shape in looks alone.
Hopefully you can at least get one good unit out of them all.

Re: Estate sale find!!
Let us know what parts you need in particular. The mechanical parts are of course the hardest to find but I'd be glad to help you find some of the electrical components. I have access to a stupid amount of old parts that people willingly donate to my cause so I'd be glad to help if you need any goofy valued carbon comps or caps.boldaslove6789 wrote:Regis Plex site is first on my list. Re: Estate sale find!!
My son bought me a EP-3 for Christmas last year. These things are so cool. Mine is missing the lid, but works perfectly. I love the way it just pushes the amp a little, and adds a little airyness to the tone. Regis's site is the place to gather info on these things. Good luck, I hope you get 'em both working!
