blowing fuses
I built a D-style amp 2 years ago and have had absolutely no issues until last night. I went into my music room to turn it on and found the power switch ON...no light, no nothin'! checked the usual suspects and found a blown fuse. Replaced the fuse and the new one popped as soon as I hit the switch. Replaced the power tubes, (just in case), and the fuse and ...pop! I could use a bit of advise as to what to check next.
Thanks in advance, Bill

Re: blowing fuses
Hi there,
you could have a short circuit filter cap or a short in the power transformer. Try disconnecting the PT secondary and see
if the fuse still blows. If it does, the PT is shot. Check the
filter caps for shorts and also check the rectifier diodes. Ofcourse
there is always the possibility that you may have a physical short
such as a strand of wire/screw etc.
