1K/25W Power Resistor

Where is everyone getting their 1K/25W power resistors from? I haven't been able to locate a source for them.

If you want the nice aluminum-bodied one, Mouser.com, part number 71-RH25-1.0K

I can't remember where I got the cement type one. I thought it was Mouser as well but I'm not seeing it there now.

I got mine from Mouser... I dont have the number handy tho...

The XICON 1K/25W is 280-CR25-1.0K at Mouser.

I saw the Xicon, but its on indefinite backorder. I'm gonna go ahead and get the aluminium one. It looks like it will fit the bill.

I was thinking to use the aluminium one too but wondering how/where I would install it. Is it worth it to mount it off board like seen here at http://www.mojaveampworks.com/8Gallery/ ... iqueID=724 or is it OK to just attach it on the board?

I guess it depends on the layout and available space but I am not there yet. Just buying parts and wondering

the whole point of the aluminum one is mounting it on the chassis and not the board... it's designed as one giant heat sink.
