Now that is an eccentric masterpiece!!!
Re: Stumbled across this, one hell of a Homebrew
That is a work of art people.
I know this is a Bass amp but it would be fantastic to have a PA power amp like that and 12 channel separate tube mixer with reverb. I liked old tube PA's. Probably need a pedistal fan to cool her off or leave it outside in the cold North Dakota/Minnesota winters.

At first glance I thought I was looking at an OTL!
Re: Stumbled across this, one hell of a Homebrew
for perspective the SVT puts out 250-300watts and was intended to run 2 8x10 cabinets. That beast pushes 1000watts - (8) 8x10 cabs
think of the head room you would get just running 2 cabs

Wow... Wattage aside, that's some of the neatest, cleanest lead dressing I've seen in a while. Nice technique! Very reminiscent of the whole Hiwatt/Military Spec shabang.
I certainly wish that my technique was that good.
Cheers,
Rob

That Champ Electronics site is a real fun read.
I spent hours reading his stories a couple years ago.
Although he doesn't seem like a real friendly chap.
I emailed him with a question and he replied rather snotty.

SV572 Triodes
I think you could replace the 20-807s with six SV572 Svetlana triodes. Could probably drive them with EL84s, 6V6s or some such, one for two SV572s. 850 to 1KV on the 572 plates.

I'll bet the lights dim for a square mile around when he hits a low D.
