The tube dampener I am using is a different idea, putting cushion and mass where the tube is. The Weber idea looks to be trying to 'float' the tube, or separate it from the chassis. Again, how high and therefore how free floating will it end up?
FWIW actually, I did run into a device like this from years ago, using very thin spring copper, and I used in a few builds. It works very well I think. I will send a pic of it and you can see its similiar approach to the Weber item. This being said, although it stuck out of the chassis a bit, its isolation elements (the copper wafer looking thing) have to be better than the Weber item. When you see the pic you will understand I think.
Finally, then, talking about both types of technology, both trying to produce the same effect, I think the Euro one is better FOR THIS APPLICTION. Yes, more $$, but it just does something different. Too, I think that the Euro piece actually dampens the whole chassis to some degree, as well as the V1. Now, it may not perform as well as the Weber piece given a different scenario - like maybe in an upside down combo amp? - but then the TW Express is pretty much a Hi-Fi build, given its construction.
OK, done. I am not a rep for the Euro company, just a customer. What I am is somebody who loves his Wreck clone, and I love it especially with this device onboard!
