Thanks for the interest. I actually just got the transformers from Moose, yesterday. The only piece left is the chassis from Kombonking (sp?) but...I am still undecided.

I have been looking at the Rocket and Liverpool info. I beleive it was contributed by you? Since I play mostly Strats, I thought the Rocket might be the way to go. Why, because I know the Express and Liverpool power sections are different El84 vs. El34 I can't help but think they will sound pretty similiar. Maybe someone can set me straight.

I am sure either one will be Killer!! Here are my headbox pics. The Express is in the Tung oiled (lighter color) cab.

I like the pictures of your cab's but I don't have anymore info regarding the Rocket. I would love to know more about it myself.

I am told that it is simply a an AC-30 with a Trainwreck type power supply.

I'll try and find out more about it.

Check this thread out. Copious amounts of tight bass, smooth highs, and all the chime you could want. 470pf input cap, 47pf treble cap, .1 caps in the PI and .047 cap and 220k resistor at the input to the PI.

Is there anything in the way of original or even consensus layouts and schematics as well as any good advice on how to proceed?

I was thinking about a rocket a while ago and the suggestion I got was to mate mark abbot's preamp drawings to the 36w power section from 18watt.com
