Don't want to speak for JH, but TS had two iterations of OTs. The original "standard" and the "vintage" (different steel):

James's one is the earlier one with M27 steel that's been used in a lot of fabulous builds here over the years. The 'vintage' spec ones use M19 steel.

Pacific Transformer sets Available

Post by RJ Guitars »

Hey guys,

I just received my tranny order of Express Iron Sets from Pacific. I don't think I can sell them as cheap as Allyn because I just haven't established the big quantity discount, but I'm working on that. I posted them on the for sale page and after I recover a bit I'll try to get some Euro-Voltage trannies in stock as well.

thanks,

rj

You know the color-coding on the OT and PT wires?

It turns out that the trannys are from my order a month ago that Fedex diverted to some guy on an island with a soccer ball or something.
According to the tracking number, they were in The Twilight Zone for exactly a month....Poof, yesterday they reappeared.

Maybe there's some extra special Mojo with these... 8)

That's a funny story, well not for you, but to get sent to the Islands man and back, yeah there's mojo in those trannies for sure. :)

If I remember right Mark, I don't believe Allyn does any notifications. It seems that I remember when I ordered all the parts for the first build that I got order confirmations, tracking #'s, and shipping comnfirmations from everyone that I sourced parts from but Allyn.

With Allyn, I just sent him the money and waited a week or so, I believe I sent him an e-mail asking when the chassis had shipped and looking for a tracking # after that. He did respond and let me know it had shipped, but I don't believe there was a tracking # made available.

I sent him the cash for a pair on Tuesday. Havent heard anything back, so I am assuming that it is the same scenario and they have mailed. I will start watching the mail for them next week and hopefully be in possession of them by end of next week if lucky.

I hope mine don't end up with Tom Hanks and Wilson also.................I can live without that MOJO.

I've ordered from Allyn many times chassis and trannies. He sends a PM and lets me know that he has things available and then we go through the paypal breakdown.

Pacific is behind I would imagine.

I am thinking they are probably on the way from Allyn already or will be leaving the East coast soon.

I did get a PM on Mon. saying they would be in on Tues. Holiday plays a part I am sure. I know eatin' turkey makes me wanna take alot of naps...........LOL.

I am confident it will not be too long before they are in. I'm just feelin lucky finding a pair right now. They seem to be a hot commodity.

RJ, any chance of getting those Pacific PT's with a 5V tap for a recto tube? That's what I put in my latest build, but had to pay a bit for it. Your price on Pacific trannies is very good; just wondering if another option could be added to it without the price getting jacked too much. Using the "Express" tranny set with a 5V tap sounds great with a Rockster type amp.

Just curious....
