18 watt T-Rex Chassis layout

Post by Chad »

I have looked for hours last night here and started looking today but decided just to ask. I usually make my own chassis and had allot of parts and a set of 18 watt trans so I thought I would give a T-Rex a shot. I have read the few post here and have got the board layout and scheme but for the life of me I can not find a chassis layout. I've gathered all my parts up and am ready to go. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for any info, Chad

i recently built one. I just threw the layout together as I went in an old organ chassis. As long as you follow general guidelines and pay attention the lead dress important in Trainwrecks, you can make it up. Check out mine here: http://music-electronics-forum.com/t14746/

Pretty non-standard, and once i got blocking taken care of, it sounds great.

Thanks guys. I knew the lead dress was pretty critical on a Express but didn't know if it's as important on the T-Rex. I followed your progress on your t-rex soma and will give your pics a close look. Thanks for the link malt, don't know why I didn't look at Mark Huss site given that he and Richie did the designs and schemes. Thanks again, Chad

I made one, but my turretboard material got so backed up that I went Point to Point, causing no end of problems. Biggest mistake EVER!
To keep it from squealing like crazy, I actually had to choke out the signal pretty badly between a couple gain stages. Now, the T-Rex Channel isn't really any higher gain than the normal channel.
So, ya, I'll probably have to gut it and restart with the turretboard.
So, that is your warning
