Ok not trying to troll here.
So please don't vent. I'm not an amp builder but a player so I'm not certain what will effect what. I built an OTS but have more knowledge of chords and scales than caps and resistors.
But I'm interested in the changes that are made from the #124 to the versions of the OTS. Their effects and the like.
My findings so far are that snubbers on the OTS on this amp are not needed the amps drive sounds better without them.
I'm interested in the changes to the specific resistor and cap values and their effect. Also does the 50watt vs 100 watt effect these values.

Re: Ceriatone mods
Hi Nik...
I had an OTS before the Hrm that i own now, and I runned the amp without snubbers on V2...but the amp had also several mods...
-High plates configuration
-Bass cap half the value of the standard
-Selectable slope resistor 85k-180k
-Marshall OT
-105ohm choke
-treble bleed
After these mods the amp was warm and sweet, capable of liquid OD sounds and stellar cleans.

Re: Ceriatone mods
Is your OTS the 100 watt version?
The S&M Special incorporates some mods you may like.
It is the 50 watt version.
Also if you use the search function there are multiple threads addressing the OTS and different mods and tweaks for those amps.

Re: Ceriatone mods
It's a 50 watter.
I've read through the threads before but but can't find a definitive answer. Seems people are taking vastly different approaches to the same issue.
The differences I can see from the above circuit
occur on cathode values and the signal path to V2a and the first resistor in the signal path. I understand the others are dinking with the voltage string.
Can we break these down.
Am i right in saying #124 has less drive into V2a
so playing with the 220k-150k and the trimmer value will effect my drive, or should I be looking at the cathode 2.7k 1.5k and caps here.
Also some thoughts on what is happening with the V1a/b cathodes would be appreciated.

Re: Ceriatone mods
Ok
After a bit of reading. I see the cathode bypass caps effect the bass roll of in the stages. So how much is the power amp in play in with the use of the #124 values. I'm thinking of trying them on a 50watt.
I like the sound of the amp but it's not quite balanced enough for me. Or to put it another way I'm not hearing the tonal spectrum I want.
Also bloom... has been discussed hear, I can't seem to get the amp to feed back as easily as I like to.

Re: Ceriatone mods
about 35ma,
using 6l6 Winged C
EH 12ax7 V1
EI old one V2
12ax7lps PI
Tried various pre-amps and have the most success with these.
Don't get me wrong allot of good comments on how the amp sounds.
Just trying to get it mine....
