transformer steel in different d'styles?

Does anyone know if dumble made the models with different steel for different types? Does m6 vs m27 have preferred effects on the hrm vs non-hrm models? has anyone used a tranny with m19/26 steel like the express' have, and did it smooth out the non-hrm type? Which steel was used for different SSS and d'land sp?

This is bsaed on what I have seen in pictures and a few SWAG's.

Early amp with Fender iron probably M6 steel

Amps with the Dynaco iron, probably M6 steel

Later amps with Ruby trannies TF170, probably M27 iron.
Later amps with TF125 (seen on one) probably M6

Soundwise, I like M6 in these amps better than M27 in most cases. But a full blown 100W BM style amp with EL34's and M27 iron sounds amazing.

Thanks glasman, so the el34 likes the m27 like in the marshall's and the m6 for 6l6. Has anyone tried using m19/26 tranny with the el34 to smooth it out like in wrecks?

I like EL34's with Hi-Fi Iron myself, I know the ones with the Music Man Iron were M6 as well.

I'd Imagine the ones with Peavey Iron had cheaper steel, but they sound great!

I don't know what it is, but I've built 3 from old Peavey's and they all sound amazing. One has Sovtek 5881's that were in it when I bought it, they sound great. Another has JJ KT-77's, totally different in the mids, the 3rd has JJ 6L6's, again different but all are great.

My favorite gigging amp now is the KT-77 amp in the 2x12 combo cab with one Emi Swamp Thang and one Tonker. It has a tube reverb using an ECL86 that sounds great.
