Can someone explain strat switch or "mid shift" mo
Actually, just a simple diagram on how to do it would be great.

So it's just switching between a 0.01 and 0.047, eh? This is what's called the "strat switch" or "mid shift" mod?heisthl wrote:some like an .02 better than a .05 or .047

Yep - it is very simple, and very effective.
Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...

Re: Can someone explain strat switch or "mid shift" mo
So which value works with a strat the best, the .047uf?

Re: Can someone explain strat switch or "mid shift" mo
I just did the mod (temporarily). I didn't have a PS orange drop 0.047, just a 715 O.D. It's not terribly noticeable... but it IS Christmas Day and I'm playing "honey will you keep it down" volumes. I do notice a difference, just not that substantial. Should it be that substantial at low volumes?mlp-mx6 wrote:Yep - it is very simple, and very effective.
Also, does this have more of an effect as you rotate the mid control, or is it accross the Mid band??

Re: Can someone explain strat switch or "mid shift" mo
My experience with my non-HRM is that I simply (yet dramatically) prefer one setting over the other with single-coils versus humbuckers. It just sounds "right" on one setting or the other - never on both settings.

Re: Can someone explain strat switch or "mid shift" mo
Just curious -- did you go with the 0.047 or the 0.02 as the alternate cap? Heisthl mentioned some people like 0.02 better than 0.047 or 0.05mlp-mx6 wrote:My experience with my non-HRM is that I simply (yet dramatically) prefer one setting over the other with single-coils versus humbuckers. Do you guys use shielded cable to the switch to do this?

Re: Can someone explain strat switch or "mid shift" mo
I don't but the few times I've done it I've always had the switch fairly close to that area of the board. The last couple of times I've done it I used a .047 in series with a .02 (yields .014uF) so I can just short out the .02 to get the .047.

Does this switch work with a HRM Version too?
Thanks
