Express two tone

Hello, I built an Express and left off the mid control because I didn't have enough room for it. The treble works but there is no bass control response at all. Is the mid control essential to get the bass working? Thanks!

OK. unused bass lug to ground.

You can also try a 25k resistor from the bottom of the base control to ground
