Hi There (first post)
I was wondering if I could get a little advise, I'm thinking of making a Dumble stand alone pre-amp, my reasons for this is firstly to see if I like the sound of it, but also so I could try it out with several different power amp's I already have. I have a DIY Marshal (800-ish) stand alone pre-amp that I was thinking of taking the mains transformer off and making a bench supply, that way saving some money and having the benefit of keeping the mains TX away from the pre-amps. so I guess my first questions would be has anyone taken this route before ? how well does the dumble work using just the pre-amp ? and would my mains TX be enough for the job ?

Re: Pre-amp stand alone
Hi Martin
Thanks for that link, the thing is I do what to build a whole amp, when I was looking at the schematic (D'lite) and I saw the pre-out amp-in connectors I thought maybe that would be a good (and cheaper) way to work out if it's the type of sound I'm looking for. I have to say all the amps I've got are with recording in mind, I'd like to be able to stick the output of this pre straight into the Pi (in PP) or the driver of a single ended, I have a SE 6v6 and EL84 and a PP 84's the one power amp I don't have at the moment is a PP 6V6 which would be handy for this.
