Getting into building-hopefully

Post by rockerjt »

Hi All;

I've been wanting to learn about building amps for a long time, but wasn't sure what route to take to learn. After seeing how so many here have taken on building projects, and after seeing what Richie has done with my TWE clone, I have been inspired to try my hand at building. However, I know NOTHING about it.

Any suggestions on where/what books, etc. to learn electronic basics? Basics about amp building? What project would be best for a first amp?

Thanks for any info guys.

Thanks.

I've heard that as a kit those are very good, however, I want to learn the nuts and bolts of it; the hows and whys, and I'd like to do a non-kit project.

Any other suggestions?

I'd get Tino Zottola's books... :roll:

Each one comes with good explanations, schematics, voltages and layouts.

5 amps per books.

Each book is 25$.

Two other great books on theory and troubleshooting.

They have done me good!
