New express born

Post by jem »

Haven't named her yet. Born at 2:30 this morning, so haven't had a chance to crank it up yet. I did of course leave off one wire for the first fire up, but found it quickly.
Thanks to everyone for the help and all the great information here.

Now, I just have to get my "drawer cabinet" ready.

No problem, glad to share the idea.

As for pictures, I don't really have a camera other than my cell phone  Guess I'm going to have to get one of those too.

Now that I've had a chance to play it, there sure isn't much room in the volume control before it gets really loud. It does sound good. I need to go through a bunch of tubes and see what sounds best and is least microphonic.

So far I like the 6V6's for the output tubes, but then I'm playing in a small area, so the EL-34's might sound better to me in a less confined space.

I tried to stick some KT-77's in it, and it started howling, so I'll have to go back and try them again later. Here's some cell phone pictures.
