Greetings,
I put a small combo amplifier up for sale for $200. A person approached me and offered me this old tube amp in trade. I was wondering if you could help me evaluate whether or not the dollar value seems comparable.
Some details:
Power Transformer: 410v009h01 / 352810
Output Transformer: 410v009h01 / 352815
Tubes: 2 x 6L6, 1 x 5AR4, 1 x 6C4WA, 1 x 12AX7
My google-fu turned up an old 1965 parts catalog with Westinghouse transformers having the same part numbers on the transformers here: https://archive.org/details/Thordarson- ... p?q=009h01
Thank you in advance for your time.
Someone offered this to me in trade, can wiser eyes take a look?

Looks good for guitar use. Would make a killer 5E5 Pro <https://www.thetubestore.com/lib/thetub ... ematic.pdf>. Replace that 6C4 with a 12AX7. I wouldn't pay more than $100 for such, though....however, it looks like the caps have already been updated? And if all the tubes are working, that's worth something.
I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com

I have a thing for the copper chassis. I might allow an extra $10 or $20 for that. But that's just me.
Seriously, it looks like the whole amp was rebuilt. Wire looks new. Does the current owner know what circuit is in it? I'll bet the answer is "no." If that's the case, IMO, it isn't worth a damn. I'd be stripping that chassis in a heartbeat to do something else, something proven. It is a small chassis, meaning there is limited working space. If you are clever, you might fit a board in it so you can build it that way instead of PTP. (Nothing wrong with PTP, but it is more challenging.) Assuming you have:
2 good transformers $50 for the pair.
1 copper undersized chassis $20.
4-5 used but not used up tubes $30.
Other parts $1 for all of them. It is impossible to know what you can reuse until you get into it and you'll find the answer is, "not very much" or with too much fiddling around.
I come out about the same place as xtian. $101.

Thanks for the sage advice. So no obvious "hidden treasure" here. I think I will decline his offer of trade.
