Cut control - make more effective
How can I increase the effectiveness of this cut control. It does have some effect, but nowhere as acute as my Rocket amp. I know they are quite different circuits. Any thoughts on how I have it implemented.

Any help on this?
Re: Cut control - make more effective
It's not really a cut control. It's a simple treble bleed tone control as found in many bottom dollar amps. All it can do is dump treble to ground, resulting in a bassy, even muddy tone. About all you can do is experiment with different pot values and different cap values. You may find some combination you like better. Don't hope for too much though.

Move the pot/cap up to the top of the volume pot, and consider increasing the pot to 500k to minimize its effect when you don't want it, and to avoid loading the preceding stage. If you want to restrict the effect to higher frequencies, reduce the cap to say 1n or even 500p.

Ok, thanks for the input. The move to the top of the pot has made it more effective. I am going to try this Tweed control next.
Thanks
