I finished wiring up my amp and was going through things before i turned it on. So with just the plug plugged in i have around 85vac from the iec socket neutral to ground. Its wired to the white primary of the PT. I assume its neutral.
The hot side of the iec to ground measures around 35vac. Measure across both hot and neutral is 120.
This doesnt seem right to me i would think 120 only on the hot side would be correct. Is something wired wrong here? Thanks

Ahh i believe i wired my iec socket backwards.

Check the voltages at the wall outlet.
Re: 85vac on iec Socket neutral to ground?
i looked at the end of the iec plug and it actually had L for load and N neutral on it. So i noticed that wasnt how i wired it in the amp. Measured the plug still has 25vac from neutral to its own ground. Its coming from a variac.

Yes, I’m concerned that the outlet’s ground is actually floating, unterminated.

Fixed it, no ground wire hooked up in the wall outlet. Thanks for your insight, glad i had no shorts. Amp is all working correctly and sounds great.
