I cant fit a rotary, drilling mistake, and need a toggle SP3T or DPT3 as an output impedance selector. I think I can use a DPDT on-on-on wired like below.
on-on-on is obvious, but what does it mean when you see switches listed with parenthesis: (on)-on-on, on-on-(on)?
BTW I can't find a spec sheet picture of the back of a SP3T but I assume they must all work like the image?

Yes, the diagram for SP3T is correct. The parenthesis implies a momentary connection.
